Eyes, Ears, & Eats: ISLAND EARTH Screening
Time & Location
About the Event
Creative Natives HI and Guayakí presents Eyes, Ears, & Eats - an event that consists of live music, a featured short-film, and delicious food. This is an exclusive meeting of creative minds who share a common interest in uplifting the local community. CNHI promotes local artisans who are active in social change and provide a positive impact through their creations. Guayakí integrates the regeneration of people, community, and nature into their business model. Every purchase of Guayakí Yerba Mate drives rainforest stewardship, indigenous culture resilience, & carbon drawdown.
The featured short-film is Island Earth, a documentary film by Cyrus Sutton, who is also the cinematographer and story-teller at Guayakí Yerba Mate. Island Earth is a rich tale of a young indigenous scientist's struggle for truth between science and tradition as he enters an industry that many feel is threatening his homeland. His complex journey through the corn fields of GMO companies to the loi patches of traditional Hawaiian elders reveals modern truths and ancient values that can save our future.
